« Great results come from showing up and training with intent, and the right gear makes that easier. »

Don’t just take a brand’s word for it. Here’s what holds up when I train in the gear, so the comfort and performance on the label show up in how it fits, moves, and lasts, not just in the marketing.

As a lifelong natural lifter, I judge gear by how it fits, how it moves with you, and how it holds up when you train, not the marketing around it. Every brand below earns its spot the same way. Here are the ones I keep coming back to.

1. Gorilla Wear

Gorilla Wear is unapologetically a lifter’s brand. It grew out of the bodybuilding world, and the gear shows it: cut for people who train hard, built to move with you through heavy sessions, and made for both men and women who care about strength and form over passing trends. If what you want is kit that performs in the gym and holds up to heavy use, this is squarely aimed at you.

Just know going in: the look is bold and heavily branded, big logos, gym-first styling, so it reads more as statement training wear than quiet everyday athleisure. It also sits at the premium end on price. If you’d rather have understated basics, this isn’t it. But if you want gear that leans into its lifting roots, Gorilla Wear owns that lane.

2. Prozis

Prozis started out in supplements, but the apparel side has quietly become a reason to visit on its own. The men’s and women’s ranges, across collections like Athleisure, MuseFit, and Peach Perfect Air, cover breathable, flexible pieces you’ll reach for often: crop hoodies, high-waist leggings, compression tops, joggers, and training shorts. If you already know what you’re after, you can jump straight to the men’s range or the women’s range.

Worth checking before you order: Prozis is a European brand, so depending on where you live, shipping times and sizing can run differently from what you’re used to. Glance at the size guide and the delivery details for your region first, and you’ll avoid the usual surprises. Beyond that, the range is wide and the prices are fair.

3. Under Armour Men’s Tech 2.0 T-Shirt

If you want a training tee that just does its job without costing much, the Under Armour Men’s Tech 2.0 is one of the most popular on Amazon for good reason: more than 26,000 ratings, a 4.6-star average, and a regular best-seller in its category. It’s made from UA’s quick-drying Tech fabric that wicks sweat and dries fast, with anti-odor treatment, a soft feel, and a simple crew-neck cut. It comes in a big spread of colors and sizes, from XS up to 5XL including Tall options, all at a budget-friendly price.

The one thing to know before you order: it’s cut on the loose side, Under Armour describes it as a fuller fit, so if you like your training shirts closer to the body, size down. A lot of reviewers who expected a fitted cut ended up going one size smaller and were happy after that.

Under Armour makes a whole line of training tops, shorts, and gear, so once you’re on the page it’s easy to look through the rest of what they offer.

4. Nike Metcon

When it comes to training shoes, the Nike Metcon is about as established as it gets, a go-to for lifting and gym work with a 4.6-star average across thousands of ratings. The reason it suits strength training so well is the sole: it’s flat and firm with a stable heel, which gives you a solid base under heavy squats and deadlifts, where a soft, springy running shoe would work against you. It’s also built tough, with a durable upper and grippy rubber that handles rope climbs and gym floors, and the fit sits locked-in and secure.

A couple of things to weigh before you buy: Metcons run on the narrow, snug side, especially through the toe box, so if you have wider feet, going up a half size tends to help. And that same flat, stiff sole that’s great for lifting makes them a poor choice for running or long cardio, these are training and lifting shoes, not runners.

Nike updates the Metcon line often and makes plenty of other training and running shoes, so it’s easy to look through other versions and options once you’re on the page.

5. THE GYM PEOPLE Women’s High-Waist Leggings

If you want training leggings that punch well above their price, THE GYM PEOPLE High-Waist Workout Leggings are among the most-reviewed on Amazon, more than 70,000 ratings at 4.4 stars and thousands sold every month. They cover what people want in a training legging: a thick, high waistband with tummy control that stays put, deep side pockets plus a hidden waistband pocket, flatlock seams that sit flat against the skin, and a squat-proof feel. They come in a wide size range, XS to 4XL, a big choice of colors, and a wallet-friendly price.

Two things worth knowing: the fit is compressive and runs a touch small, so if you’re between sizes, sizing up tends to be more comfortable. And while the black and darker colors are a safe bet for squat-proof coverage, a few of the lighter and marbled shades can go slightly sheer when fully stretched, so stick to darker tones if that’s a concern.

THE GYM PEOPLE make other leggings, shorts, and workout pieces too, so it’s easy to look through more of their range once you’re on the page.

6. FITTIN Supportive Sports Bra (Large-Bust & Plus Size)

Rounding out the women’s picks, the FITTIN Supportive Sports Bra is one of Amazon’s most popular sports bras, and it fills a specific need: it’s built for larger busts, C to DDD, and plus sizes. The seamless, high-stretch fabric and wide racerback straps are made for comfort over long stretches without the shoulder-digging, with full-coverage cups to keep everything in place, removable pads, a wire-free build, and moisture-wicking, machine-washable material. It usually comes in value multipacks, so you get a few at once.

One thing to be clear on: despite some of the high-impact wording on the listing, this is a medium-support bra. For yoga, lifting, walking, and all-day wear it’s comfortable and keeps you covered, but if you want serious lockdown for running or jump-heavy training, a dedicated high-impact bra is the better call. Sizing can also run a touch small for some, so it’s worth checking the size chart, especially toward the larger end.

FITTIN makes other sizes, colors, and bra styles too, so it’s easy to look through the rest once you’re on the page.
